When will your zine be printed?
The first issue went out in May 2017. The zine is a true passion project and I’ve decided not to place any deadlines or regular publishing schedules for future issues. I want the issues to be published only when they are ready and I am confident they live up to my own personal standards and are worthy of sharing with the community. Call it “quality over quantity” – we don’t want to rush to print for the sake of printing another issue.
So… Why are you doing this?
We’re banking on this whole “internet” thing being a fad, so we’re keeping it traditional with a printed zine.
But really, in this age of constant digital media being thrown in our faces, it’s nice to take a step back and hold something tangible. Zines and hard copies were a huge part of the scene when we were coming up and we want to keep that tradition alive.
Since I was a kid holding my copy of Subway Art and trading flicks, I’ve always wanted to put together my own publication to share. It’s an attempt to give something small back to the community that helped shape me and continues to inspire me to this day.
Can I contribute?
Absolutely! If you want to share some flicks, designs, feedback, or hate mail we’re always down to collaborate. Give us a shout and we can go from there.
Can I sell my work through your site?
We’re looking to create a small marketplace that allows artists to easily connect with their audience. If you’re interested in selling through High Iron Cult, check out the Artists Wanted page.
Apparel and Order Questions
I got my order, but it’s missing items!
Depending upon availability, we sometimes ship items separately. So, your items may arrive in multiple shipments. If you have any questions about your order status, please give us a shout and we’ll make sure to get it sorted.
I thought you were making a zine. Why are you trying to sell shirts?
Selling shirts helps us raise a few extra bucks to go towards printing the zine. Plus, we like shirts.
How are your shirts printed?
Graphic tees are printed with the latest Direct-to-Garment printing. All-over print tees are printed with dye-sublimation. This allows us to print on demand while offering high-quality shirts.
How should I wash my shirt?
Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colors. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary. No fabric softeners. Tumble dry low, or hang-dry for longest life. Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron graphics. Do not dry clean.
What kind of ink is used?
The inks used on our shirts are water based and eco-friendly. This makes the feel much softer than traditional screen printed shirts, but just as durable.
My question isn’t listed here…
No worries! Please feel free to contact us anytime and we’ll help get you sorted.
